BRVCA is pleased to announce a partnership with the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District to complete two badly needed foundational projects.
The first project involves identifying and then beginning the process of rectifying road name and mapping discrepancies. Please click here for complete project details.
The second project involves the digitization and mapping of all the information and plot layout of the cemetery. It is expected that the final product will be a map of the layout of the cemetery plots in portable document format (pdf). The pdf map will be ‘clickable’ so that a user could click on a plot with their mouse and open up other information related to that plot (death certificates, burial records, plot images, etc.). This project will modernize and protect the cemetery information and provide a long term method for maintenance of all records. Please click here for complete details.
In order to provide the BRVCA side of the project, we are also pleased to announce we have hired a locally based and known student, Leah Goldie using Canada Summer Jobs funding. Leah will be working on these projects in July and August.
The SLRD has committed staff time and resources through the Civic Addressing and Cemetary regional district services.
